Titanium Rings

Titanium is the metal of choice!  It is strong, clean and will never rust or tarnish.  It is perfect for jewelry purposes because it will not turn skin green or black, and is in fact best for people with metal sensitivities!  It is not the easiest material to bend and manipulate, but in the smaller jewelry sizes it is not that difficult.  Titanium has a strong spring back tendency which means the rings will be slightly larger than the rings of the same size in soft metals like silver or copper.  Please remember that the ring sizes correspond with the size of the mandrel they were wound on.

Currently we are only offering Titanium rings are snip cut rather than saw cut.  When Titanium rings are saw cut they are very difficult to push together to make a clean closure, due to the strength of the material (spring back).  We've also noticed a tendancy for the rings to spread open again after they were closed tightly. The snip cut is not perfectly flush, but it is a nice snip cut that is VERY easy to work with.

Our supplier for titanium wire buys Aerospace surplus and it is a better price for high quality metal.  However, each spool of wire varies from one to the next.  Some are super hard, some soft, some anodize WONDERFULLY and some won't turn colour at all.  We do our best to buy a large amount at a time, but HIGHLY recommend you buy all the rings you need for one project at the same time.  This will make sure your rings are uniform.

Titanium is very strong and light, and because it is a reactive metal it can be changed a whole bunch of colours by using electricity.  It is difficult to control the colouring process, which makes for an amazing mix of colours!  The colours are tricky to duplicate to the EXACT degree.  Also, the colour of the rings may vary in one batch of anodizing, so please keep this in mind when ordering.  If you want a batch of rings as close to the same colour as possible, please order all at once, because 2 months down the road we may not have the exact same shade of colour.  Each different Gauge of Titanium is a different alloy and each alloy colours differently.  We cannot be certain when our supplier will change alloys on our wire supply.  The length of time the colour will last is dependant on body chemistry and amount of time worn.  Some people find the colour fades quickly with wear, some people find they have a full year of daily wear with little fading.  The oils from your skin can affect the colour, so washing with hot soapy water can restore the colour.
