These small anodized scales are really fun to add to any project. They make quick earrings, or you can even make a halter top or bikini top!

They are p
unched from anodized aluminum strip.
They are Leaf Shaped - 9/16" x 7/8".
All others are anodized the same on both sides. The sides of the scales are not anodized.  1000 scales per sq ft  Using 18g 3/16" Jump rings.

50 scales per bag - the is approx and subject to human error when bagging -- you might have 48 or 55... we do our best to get 50 on the nose!

Brushed Sand and Brushed Earth - these are anodized on ONE side, and silver on the other side.  The Anodized side is the convex side... so if you want colour on the inside of a flower as our instructions teach - you would have to flip the scales around.  This also applies to the butterfly pattern - Your pattern would have to be inverted.

Metallic - Is a paint finish... It's beautiful.  The edges are rough on this colour - manufacturing flaw but fixable with a small file or sandpaper!

Scales are NOT made in house and can have some quality hicups from time to time.  Sometimes the edges can be a little rough.  Sometimes the line in the center of the scale can be more obvious from batch to batch.  Sometimes there are marks on the finish of the scales.  We have zero control over the quality.  It's based on the company that makes the strip and the company that punches the scales.  You are welcome to return any scales you don't like at your expense.  We do out best our best to have stock on hand that is the best quality, but we are completely dependant on whats available and what we are sent in our bulk orders.

Yes! I've wanted these for 10 months!

I'm in the US, where these gorgeous scale beads are ridiculously expensive, averaging $10 for 25 beads. I needed at least 200 for the project I had in mind, meaning I'd have $80 invested in beads alone, not counting other supplies. I happened upon metaldesignz.com in a search, and was astonished at the low prices. I ordered enough for my project, and some plastic scale beads to make a trial run of my project. All those scales and extras set me back a grand total of $32. The scale beads are lovely: deep, even color throughout each bead, no odd sized singles, no semi-stamped unusable beads. Call me happy!
