USA SHIPPING REMINDER

Just a reminder how our USPS works as we have a bunch of new customers and I get lots of questions.

Amazon same day delivery has made your expectations of shipping for small businesses really hard to compare to. 

WE ARE IN CANADA -- You are paying in CAD $$ saving yourself roughly 30+% in currency conversion alone!!  This means the shipping you are paying is in CAD $$ -- so please know we recover costs on shipping... we don't profit on it!  We will also combine shipping on multiple orders whenever possible to save you money.

Once the label is printed the package goes in a box to DYKPOST in Edmonton Alberta, and then on a truck to Sweet Grass Montana, where USPS receives and scans it and hopefully delivers it quickly to you. We ship a USA on box Mon, Wed, and Friday, or more often if we have enough packages on Tue and Thursday. Moving into Christmas Rush, we can generally ship daily.  SHIPPING TIMES ARE GENERALLY 7-10 business days from Canada to the USA.  If you are closer to MT - the time is shorter than if you are far away.

Now when the Monday is a holiday here in Canada, it causes a huge backlog all week, as the volume of packages that Sweet Grass gets can be more than 10,000 per day from our Canada Truck. They say that the staff is very small in Sweet Grass as it is a tiny town (Population of 65 people in 2020 census!!) So sometimes we see a delay at the packages being scanned. Everyone is doing their best. 

Once I ship your package and it leaves me I can't do anything about your order.  You should choose priority shipping if you want the $100 insurance on the package - but if your package has an issue (VERY RARE) You will have to deal with USPS directly, as we are in Canada and can't really reach out to them on your behalf.  This has happened a handful of times in the 5 years we have been using them and we ship thousands of packages each month.

Canada shipping is an issue.  We are the largest country space wise with a relatively small population, and our shipping is very expensive.  I can ship to Florida for $7.95, and Nova Scotia is $25.

If we were using just Canada post - the cost would be triple, with no tracking, and it takes 4 weeks to deliver! So using USPS and couriers is much faster and cheaper.
